Cyber Bullying
A big thank you to Garda Dan Brennan and Garda John McCormack for their very informative talk about cyber bullying and personal safety with our 5th and 6th class pupils.
Garda John also very kindly popped in and surprised our Infants. He spoke about the importance of wearing their seatbelts and staying safe. They had lots of very interesting questions for Garda John!!

U13 Girls Football
Our girl's that took part in an Under 13 Football blitz recently in Moyle Rovers. Well done to all for taking part and keep up the training.
Cross Country 2018
Well done to all who took part in the Tipperary School's Cross Crountry in Thurles Crokes. All of our pupil's put in a fantastic effort training this year, something we hope to develop further throughout the year. A particular congratulations is due for Adam Spillane-Leane who finished 3rd in the 5th/6th Class boys race and his sister Olive who came 2nd in the 3rd/4th Class girl's race.
Best of luck to Micheál, Luke ans Stephen who are competing in the All Ireland Squash Finals on Friday.
Boy's Spar FAI 5-a-side
Best of luck to the boys who take part in the County Finals of the FAI 5-a-side in Newhill tomorrow.
Concern Primary Debating
We are so proud of our 5th and 6th class debaters who reached the quarter finals of the Kilkenny Education Centre primary school debating competition. Unfortunately we lost out narrowly to Paulstown NS, but the team can be proud of their excellent preparation, teamwork and performances on the day and throughout the competition.
Girl's Spar FAI 5-A-Side
A fun day out at the Spar FAI 5-A-Side in Newhill on Monday. A superbly organised day as always. Thanks to all involved.
Rugby
Rugby training is in full flow with 1st to 6th class being put through their paces each week. We have already seen some fantastic individual skill and super team play. We are really looking forward to this years rugby finals. Above are some snap shots of 4th-6th class training.
Our 5th and 6th Class girls baked some beautiful smarties cookies in school today. They definitely passed the taste test! We're looking forward to the next batch already.
Friendship Week
As part of our Friendship Week, we are celebrating both our uniqueness as individuals buts also our important role within a team, class and wider school community. in 5th and 6th class we have been creating and playing team building games, conducting personal surveys with our classmates and presenting symbols of our hobbies to allow others to learn more about us.
Ash Wednesday/Beginning of Lent
Fr. Jim visited us on Ash Wednesday to present us with ashes, symbolizing the start of Lent.
3rd-6th Class Chess Workshop
Today we started our four week chess workshop with former Munster Chess Champion John Alfred. All children from 3rd to 6th class will be taking part. The children really enjoyed the morning's chess and picked up the game quite quickly. We look forward to progressing our chess skills over the next three weeks under John's stewardship.
Garda online safety and cyberbullying visit
Garda Colm and Garda Debbie visited us today to talk about online safety and cyber bullying. They provided us with some very valuable information on how to behave online and also how to deal with negative experiences online. As a special treat for the children, our two local Gardaí exhibited their equipment in a fun and friendly way. We thank them for their kindness and knowledge.
